i found that i had a passionate love for music at a very tender age. upon hearing a song i would catch it immediately (well the melody that is) and would start to put in my own words to fill what i never knew. when my brother and i would sneak out of the house to go to dances i always find my self around the selectors and equipments, though i was sometimes chased away, i would return shortly. i grew up in a family of “singers”, but can’t hold a note to save my life. but i still knew i had a place in the music business. i started in my teen years, to make riddims, which i thought at the time to be my true love(still think) but also love playing at parties and make ppl enjoy themselves. i played at my first solo event at st. catherine high school, at a function put on by the key club, and based on responses i really shelled it. i played at many other events and at the school and got recognition by many dj’s there. i started producing riddims with a recording company on St. John’s Road and quickly elevated myself with a wider knowledge of music. i started djing seriously when i got an invitation from ricky to join purplx. even though at the time i had my own sound namely frendetta sound, i realised that i wouldn’t be able to maintain it the way i wanted to and since Frendetta is n incorporation i decided to scrap frendetta sound and keep frendetta records and collin’g graphics. i hope to one day be a master dj as dj jazzy jeff, and develop a set of skills surpassing that of dj kentaro.
